2 TTXSSL Installation


2.1 Operating Environment

TTXSSL has been confirmed to operate on the following environments:
Windows 95 (PC/AT compatibles)
Windows NT4.0 (PC/AT compatibles)

2.2 File Configuration

The file configurations for version 0.1a1 and version 0.1a2 are different. Please refer to the relevant section for each version.

 

2.2.1 Version 0.1a2 and later

Upon expanding the archive the following files will appear.
Please Note:In addition to the files below, Tera Term Pro Version-2.3 or later is required.

Becouse of security problem, don't use files (7)-(11) without demonstration.

2.2.2 Version 0.1a1

Two versions are available: The full package version (includes the MFC run time library), and the standard package version (MFC run time library not included). PLease select the version to suit your environment. (If you do not have the MFC run time library, choose the full package version).

2.3 TTXSSL Installation

The installation methods for version 0.1a1 and version 0.1a2 are different. Please refer to the relevant section for each version. The latest version can be obtained here.

 

2.3.1 Version 0.1a2 and later

An installor is not included with the current version.
Please perform the installation manually.

Following is the installation method:

 (1)Install Tera Term Pro Version2.3 and laterby the normal method.
Tera Term Pro is available here.

 (2)Download TTXSSL and expand the files.

(3)Install the libraries
Move the expanded files ssleay32.dll, libeay32.dll and msvcp50.dll (Version 0.2a1 and later) to the directory where you installed Tera Term Pro or the system directory (eg. c:\windows\systemn etc).
Note: version 0.1a2 and prior, correspond to SSLeay0.8.x,and version 0.2a1 corresponds to SSLeay0.9.x.

(4)Move the expanded file ttxssl.dll to the directory where you installed Tera Term Pro.

(5)Environment Variable(*)Set TERATERM_EXTENSIONS to 1.

 Following the above, installation is complete.

 Upon implementing Tera Term Pro, SSL will now become available.

 

(*)How to set environment variable
To set the above environment variable with Windows 95, please add the following line to c:\autoexec.bat and restart your machine.

 

SET TERATERM_EXTENSIONS=1

 

To set the above environment variable with Windows NT4.0, perform the same operation as Windows 95 above, or select the [control panel]-[system] environment panel, and
set the TERATERM_EXTENSIONS
variable's value to 1.

2.3.2 Version 0.1a1

An installor is not included with the current version.
Please perform the installation manually.

Following is the installation method:

 (1)Create an appropriate directory, and move the expanded files to there.
Note: the SLLeay-8.x run time library (ssleay32.dll and libeay32.dll) and the MFC run time library (mfc42.dll and msvcrt.dll - only included with the full package version) are to be placed in the same directory as the executable file, or the system directory (c:\windows\system etc).

 (2)If using Windows NT on NEC PC98, please copy nt98keyb.cnf to Keyboard.cnf
Or, if using Windows 95 on NEC PC98, please copy pc98keyb.cnf to Keyboard.cnf

 (3)If the system language you are using is English, please set the teraterm.ini section [Tera Term] Language to English.
In the same manner, if you are using Russian, select Russian in the same location.

 Following the above, installation is complete.

 Upon double-clicking ttermpro.exe, SSL Tera Term Pro will start up.
